DevOps/SRE Engineer
Responsibilities
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for building, automating, and optimizing the infrastructure that powers high-performance streaming and content delivery. This role requires a strong foundation in networking, automation, and internal tooling development to ensure the lowest latency, highest reliability, and most scalable streaming experiences for our customers.
The daily tasks include:

Infrastructure & Automation
- Designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment of streaming and caching software.
- Developing infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Ansible
- Managing containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) to scale streaming applications dynamically
- Automating server provisioning, deployments, and configurations to minimize operational overhead

Network & Performance Optimization
- Working with Anycast, and CDN routing strategies to optimize video content delivery
- Enhancing cache hierarchies and origin shielding to improve streaming reliability
- Monitoring and optimizing latency, bandwidth utilization, and request routing

Internal Tooling Development
- Developing custom internal tools to improve DevOps workflows, infrastructure observability, and automation
- Creating self-service tooling for engineers and solutions architects to provision and test streaming workloads

Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Security
- Setting up observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK stack, or OpenTelemetry) to track performance
- Proactively identifying bottlenecks, anomalies, and security risks in the streaming pipeline
- Implementing automated alerting and incident response mechanisms

Collaboration & Documentation
- Working closely with Solutions Engineers, Network Engineers, and R&D to ensure seamless integrations
- Documenting internal tools, automation workflows, and network optimizations for internal teams and customers
- Staying up to date with the latest streaming technologies, DevOps methodologies, and infrastructure trends
Skills & Knowledge
Technical Skills needed for this position:
- Strong Linux/Unix administration experience
- Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, Anycast, CDN routing, firewalls, and load balancing)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid-cloud networking
- Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) and orchestration tools
- Advanced knowledge of infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience developing internal tools and automation scripts using Python, Go, Bash, or JavaScript
- Familiarity with observability and performance monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- Knowledge of security best practices, including DDoS mitigation, WAFs, and API security
The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills to tackle large-scale streaming and content delivery challenges, the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams such as R&D, Solutions Engineering, Networking, and Security, and excellent communication skills. A passion for continuous improvement and automation is key to success in this role.
